Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → SaidByMe. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open SaidByMe, go to Settings inside the app, and tap "Restore Purchase." Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to subscribe.
Can I re-record my voice?
Yes — go to Settings inside the app and tap "Re-record Voice." Note that re-recordings are limited to once every 30 days to ensure the best experience, so find a quiet spot and take your time with the original recording.
My stories aren't playing — what should I do?
Try closing and reopening the app. If a story hasn't been prepared yet, go to the story and tap "Prepare Story" to generate the audio. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall from the App Store — your account and voice profile will be restored when you sign back in. Still stuck? Email us at [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
My voice doesn't sound right in the stories.
Voice cloning works best with a clear, natural recording in a quiet environment. If your clone doesn't sound quite like you, try re-recording in a quieter space when your re-record window is available. Speaking naturally and conversationally (not reading stiffly) also makes a big difference.

SaidByMe is built by Lekau, an individual developer. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains clearly what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to all users of the SaidByMe iOS and Android apps.
2. What data we collect
When you create an account, we collect:Your name
Your email addressThis information is collected via Sign in with Google or email and password, and stored securely using Firebase Authentication.
We also collect:Your voice recording, uploaded to ElevenLabs to create a cloned voice profile. This recording is transmitted to and stored by ElevenLabs in accordance with their privacy policy.
Your voice profile ID (voice_id), stored securely on your device to enable story narration in your cloned voice.
Audio files (MP3s) generated from your cloned voice, stored locally on your device.
Crash reports and diagnostic data to identify and fix technical issues (via Firebase Crashlytics).We do not collect:Any data for advertising or third-party marketing purposes.
Any data beyond what is listed above.3. How we use your data
Your data is used solely to:Provide and personalise your SaidByMe experience.
Clone your voice and generate bedtime story narrations using ElevenLabs.
Process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat.
Improve app stability and performance.We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except the service providers listed below who help us operate the app.
4. Third-party services

SaidByMe is designed for use by parents and adults. Accounts must be created by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. The app's stories are intended to be played for children, but the account, voice recording, and all personal data belong to the parent or guardian.
6. Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Voice data held by ElevenLabs is subject to their own retention and deletion policies.
